Your DONATions  support:

  • AIS Prevention & Mitigation: Boat inspectors at public landings to educate boaters to prevent invasive species from entering the Spider Chain
  • Education: Informing the public about conservation through events such as Spider Lake Environmental Education for Kids ("SLEEK")
  • Water Quality & Safety: Water testing, maintaining healthy fish habitats, and navigational buoy maintenance
  • Partnerships: Collaborating with organizations like WisconsinLakes.org and the WDNR
  • Communications: Communicating critical issues that impact the Chain of Lakes, including best shoreline practices and wildlife protection

THREE TYPES OF GIFTS

FISH MEMBER GIFT

Fish Member Gifts are directed to fund SCLA operations. In 2025, annual cost of operations were more than $400 per family, yet membership donation is capped at just $50 (per WI DNR).

Fish Member Gifts offer tiered donation levels ranging from World Record Musky ($3,000) to Bluegill ($125). Our goal is 100% member participation.  Please JOIN and DONATE!

ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY GIFT


Organizational Capacity gifts fund the cost to replace key finance and communication volunteers which were previously performed by volunteers with expertise in these fields. 

To make the best use of our current volunteers while maintaining the efficient running of the association, we need annual donations of both Fish Member and Organizational Capacity gifts.


PRESERVE & PROTECT GIFT 

Preserve & Protect gifts support SCLA's long-term mission and emergency needs. 

  • SCLA Endowment (2/3): Designed & managed to sustain SCLA in perpetuity, the endowment funded 20% of budgeted expenses in 2025.
  • Emergency Reserve (1/3): Designed to meet unexpected emergencies such as the discovery and mitigation of new invasive species.

IRA Distributions 

Donors age 70 1/2 and older can use their required minimum distribution as a donation to SCLA and avoid certain taxes. See the IRS website for more details. or contact your IRA administrator and tax advisor.

ESTATE GIFTS & more

  • Securities/Mutual Funds: Transfer assets directly from your brokerage account to SCLA's account.  For details go to Using Securities page of our website
  • Estate Gift: Include SCLA in your will
  • Company Matching Gifts: Ask your employer if they provide matching gifts
  • Memorials & Tributes: Published annually to recognize your loved ones
