WAYS TO DONATE

Spider Chain of Lakes Association (SCLA) offers two ways for you to donate.

1. Preserve & Protect Fund:  

This fund supports SCLA's long-term mission and emergency needs. Two-thirds of your donation is allocated to the endowment, which funds core programs, and one-third is allocated to the emergency reserve for unexpected emergency expenses to help combat invasive species

    • Endowment: Designed to sustain SCLA in perpetuity, the endowment funded over 25% of budgeted expenses for 2025
    • Emergency Reserve: Designed to meet unexpected emergencies 

2. FISH MEMBER GIFTS: 
If you MAKE a Fish Member Gift BELOW, PLEASE THEN GO TO THE MEMBERSHIP Renewal PAGE & RENEW. 

Fish Member Gifts are directed to fund operations such as:

  • AIS Prevention: This includes boat inspectors at public landings to prevent invasive species
  • Education: Informing lake residents and children about conservation
  • Water Quality & Safety: Buoy management, water testing, and maintaining healthy fish habitats
  • Partnerships: Collaborating with organizations like WisconsinLakes.org and the WDNR
Fish Member Gifts have tiered donation levels, ranging from "Bluegill" ($125) to "World Record Musky" ($3,000). Our goal is 100% member participation in Fish Member Gifts to expand our work in protecting the lakes.

Our Challenge:
SCLA previously relied on government grants, which are now less available. To continue our vital work protecting the Spider Chain of Lakes, we need your support through annual donations of Fish Member Gifts.

SCLA accepts donations in various ways:

  1. Online: Donate by credit card using the form on this page. SCLA is charged ~3% processing fee for credit card donations, so please consider that when donating online.
  2. By Check: Fill out this form and mail a check to SCLA, P.O. Box 1082, Hayward, WI 54843.

Other Options (IRA Distributions  - mutual funds  - And more):

  • IRA Distribution: Donors age 70 1/2 and older can use their required minimum distribution as a donation to SCLA and avoid certain taxes.  See the IRS website for more details. or contact your IRA administrator.

  • Donor Advised Fund: Transfer your gift directly to SCLA 

  • Securities/Mutual Funds: Transfer assets directly from your brokerage account to SCLA's account.  For details go to Using Securities page of our website.

  • Estate Gift: Include SCLA in your will.

  • Company Matching Gifts: Ask your employer if they provide matching gifts.

  • Memorials & Tributes: Published annually in SpiderLines newsletter.
